(B)IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS:

(1)PROPHET MUHAMMAD(PBUH) IS NOOR-UL-BASHAR (HUMAN AND NOOR BOTH)
The Ahlus Sunnah wa'l Jamaah believe that it is indeed permissible to call the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as 'Nur of Allah'. The Qur'an has itself applied this description to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) at many places and so have overwhelming ahadith.

However, it is often at this point that those who oppose this view believe from some erroneous conviction that we deem the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as a non-human. This is indeed a strange and gross accusation, as those who claim that he was not a human, have clearly ventured out of the bounds of Islam, and have entered into kufr. The belief of Ahlus Sunnah wa'l Jamaah is that our Noble Prophet Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) is both Nur and Human.

It critically replies to their baseless reasoning and Misquoted Ayaats of the Qur’an. This books proves that its the way of the Kuffars  from the time of Adam(a.s) till the time of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh), that they rejects the words of Allah by saying that: “This Prophet(pbuh) is just a Human being like us”. THUS IN THIS AGE WHOEVER SAYS THAT: “PROPHET MUHAMMAD(PBUH) IS JUST A HUMAN BEING LIKE US” IS FOLLOWING THE KUFFARS.

AUTHENTICITY OF THE HADEETH OF JABIR BIN 'ABDULLAH (RADI ALLAH TA'ALA 'ANHU)
Al-Juz al-Mafqud min al-Juz al-Awwal min al-Musannaf Abdur Razaq, Publish: Dar al-Muhadith, Riyadh/Saudia

HADITH:
It is narrated by Imam Abdur Razaq from Mua'mar, from Ibn al-Mankadr, from Jabir ibn `Abd Allah said to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) : "O Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him), may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, tell me of the first thing Allah created before all things." He (Peace Be Upon Him) said: "O Jabir, the first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet from His light, and that light remained (lit. "turned") in the midst of His Power for as long as He wished, and there was not, at that time, a Tablet or a Pen or a Paradise or a Fire or an angel or a heaven or an earth. And when Allah wished to create creation, he divided that Light into four parts and from the first made the Pen, from the second the Tablet, from the third the Throne, [and from the fourth everything else]......."

(C)SHORT ANALYSIS:
AT THE END I AM ADDING, SOME IMPORTANT SHORT ARTICLES:

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is Noor-ul-Bashar (both Noor and Human)

In Light of Glorious Qur'an

1. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is the Light of Allah, something a believer can say because the Qur’an affirms it in the verse.

"O people of the Book! There hath come to you our Messenger, revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary). There hath come to you from Allah a (new) light and a perspicuous Book (Qur’an 5:15).

The great Mufasir of Quran Allama Alusi (rah) writes under this ayah:

عظيم وهو نور الأنوار والنبـي المختار صلى الله عليه وسلم

Translation: He is the great Light of Lights (Nur ul Anwaar) and Nabi al-Mukhtar (i.e. given power by Allah to make Laws) [Al-Alusi in Ruh al Ma’ni under 5:15]

There is a notable explanation among Ahl al-Sunna which ascribes the meaning of the Prophet to both the Light and the Book. al-Sayyid al-Alusi said in Ruh al-ma`ani: "I do not consider it far-fetched that what is meant by both the Light and the Manifest Book is the Prophet, the conjunction being in the same way as what was said by al-Jubba'i [in that that both the Light and the Book were the Qur'an]. There is no doubt that all can be said to refer to the Prophet. Perhaps you will be reluctant to accept this from the viewpoint of expression (`ibara); then let it be from the viewpoint of subtle allusion (ishara)." [Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani, Volume 006, Page No. 97-8]

Allama Alusi (rah) also said:

وكونه صلى الله عليه وسلم رحمة للجميع باعتبار أنه عليه الصلاة والسلام واسطة الفيض الإلهي على الممكنات على حسب القوابل، ولذا كان نوره صلى الله عليه وسلم أول المخلوقات، ففي الخبر " أول ما خلق الله تعالى نور نبيك يا جابر " وجاء " الله تعالى المعطي وأنا القاسم " وللصوفية قدست أسرارهم في هذا الفصل كلام فوق ذلك،

Translation: "The Prophet being a mercy to all is linked to the fact that he is the intermediary of the divine outpouring over all contingencies [i.e. all created things without exception], from the very beginnings (wasitat al-fayd al-ilahi `ala al-mumkinat `ala hasab al-qawabil), and that is why his light was the first of all things created, as stated in the report that "The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir," and also cited is: "Allah is the Giver and I am the Distributor." The Sufis -- may Allah sanctify their secrets -- have more to say on that chapter." [Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani, Volume 017, Page No. 105]

The Light as mentioned in Qur'an has been explained by a number of other classic Scholars as follows:

Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti on This Verse:

هو النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Translation: It is the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace)" (Tafsir al-Jalalayn, 139).

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi on this Verse:

يعني بالنور: النبي محمداً صلى الله عليه وسلم

Translation: The meaning of Nur is: The Prophet Muhammad (Peace upon him) [Z'ad al Maseer fil Ilm at-Tafseer Under the verse 5:15]

(Imam Qurtubi) and Mawardi (al-Nukat wa al-‘uyun, 2.22) mention that interpreting Nur as "Muhammad" (Allah bless him and give him peace) was also the position by [the Imam of Arabic grammar Ibrahim ibn Muhammad] al-Zajjaj (d. 311/923). [Ahkam al-Qur’an , 6.118]

(Fakhr al-Razi:) "There are various positions about it, the first being that the Light is Muhammad, and the Book is the Qur’an " (al-Tafsir al-kabir, 11:194).

Among the scholars who said : "What is meant by a Light is: Muhammad, Blessings and peace upon him." are

►Suyuti in Tafsir al-Jalalayn,

►Fayruzabadi in the Tafsir Ibn `Abbas entitled Tanwir al-miqbas (p. 72)

►Shaykh al-Islam, Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, the Mujaddid of the sixth century, in his Tafsir al-kabir (11:189)

►Imam al-Shirbini in his Tafsir entitled al-Siraj al-munir (p. 360), the author of Tafsir Abi Sa`ud (4:36)

►Thana'ullah Pani Patti in his Tafsir al-mazhari, (3:67)

2. The Parable of Allah’s Nur is Nur of Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace)

Quran states:
.

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The "Parable" of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things. (Quran 24:35)

Qadhi Iyad (Rahimuhullah) explains "Parable" of Allah's Nur in detail in his maginificent work of Seerah called Ash-Shifa

Translation: Allah says: Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.(Surah Nur, 24. Ayah 35)

Ka’b al-Ahbar (ra) and Ibn Jubayr (ra) said: By the second light He means Muhammad (Peace be upon him).Allah said “The Likness of his light” this refers to the Nur of Muhammad

Sahl bin Abdullah (ra) said that it means that Allah is the “guide” of creation in heavens and the earth, he then said:Like the Light of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) when it is lodged in the loins (of his forefathers) like a niche. By the Lamp he means his heart. The glass is his breast. It is as if it were a glittering star because of the belief and wisdom it contains, kindled from a blessed tree, i.e. from the light of Ibrahim (a.s). He makes a comparison with the blessed tree and He says: “Its oil would nearly shine” i.e. Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam)’s prophecy is evident to the people even before he speaks just like the oil.

A lot more is said about this ayat, and Allah knows the best about it, elsewhere in the Quran Allah calls his Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) a Light and a LIGHT GIVING LAMP. He says: “A Light and a clear book have come to you from Allah (5:15), Allah also says: “We sent you as a witness, a barrier or glad tidings and a warner, one who calls to Allah with his permission and a Light-giving Lamp (33:46)

Imam Ibn Kathir (Rahimuhullah) says under this ayah

Imam al-Baghwi (Rahimuhullah) explains:

Translation: Some (scholars) said: This similitude refers to Nur of Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam), Ibn Abbas (ra) asked Kab al-Ahbar (ra) to explain Similitude of Nur, at which he replied: Allah has mentioned his Prophet (Peace be upon him) as a parable in this ayah, Mishkat refers to the chest of Prophet (saw), Glass refers to his heart, and Misbah refers to his Nabuwah and the wording “whose oil is well-nigh luminous” means that even if Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had not declared himself a Prophet still his Nurwould have glowed proving to people that he is a Nabi

Translation: Ibn Abbas (ra) presents the explanation of Kab al-Ahbar (ra) as: {The parable of his light is as there were a niche} Niche here refers to a lantern, this example which Allah has given is of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) that he is a Lantern which contains light, {And within it a lamp} meaning his heart{and lamp enclosed in a glass} meaning his chest { the glass as it were a brilliant star}The chest of Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is explained through parable of glowing star…. { whose oil is well-nigh luminous} means that even if Prophet (saw)had not declared himself a Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) still his (Nur) would have glowed proving to people that he is a Nabi

Translation: The Parable of Allah’s Nur is Nur of Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam) which was present in the loins of his forefathers [Reference:Tanwir al Miqbas, Min Tafsir Ibn Abbas, Page No. 376, Published by Maktaba al Asriyyah, Beirut, Lebanon]

Continuing the Tafsir: It is also said that the verse means: the likeness of the light of Muhammad in the loins of his forefathers is like this, up to Allah's saying (… kindled from a blessed tree). He says: the light of Muhammad in Abraham was an upright religion (olive tree), and Abraham was neither Jew nor Christian (neither of the East nor of the West), the works of Abraham would almost glow forth in the loins of his forefathers like this (would almost glow forth (of itself)), up until Allah's saying (kindled from a blessed tree) He says: as if it is the light of Muhammad (pbuh) and if Abraham was not a prophet, he would still have this light (though no fire touched it); it is also said that the latter passage means: Had Allah not honored Abraham, he would not have had this light; it is also said: if Allah had not honored His believing servant with this light, he would not have had it.

Please note: Tanwir al Miqbas is only quoted to provide a corroborating reference

Imam Suyuti said in al-Riyad al-aniqa: Ibn Jubayr and Ka`b al-Ahbar said:

"What is meant by the second light is the Prophet because he is the Messenger and the Expositor and the Conveyor from Allah of what is enlightening and manifest." Ka`b said: "Its oil well nigh would shine because the Prophet well nigh would be known to the people even if he did not say that he was a Prophet, just as that oil would send forth light without a fire."

Among those who said that the meaning of " مَثَلُ نُورِهِ" -- the likeness of His Light -- is the Prophet Muhammad, upon him blessings and peace:
►Ibn Jarir al-Tabari in his Tafsir (18:95),

►Suyuti in al-Durr al-manthur (5:49),

►Zarqani in Sharh al-mawahib (3:171),

►al-Khafaji in Nasim al-riyad (1:110, 2:449),

►al-Nisaburi in Ghara'ib al-Qur'an (18:93) said: "The Prophet is a light and a light-giving lamp."
►al-Qari in Sharh al-shifa' said: "The most apparent meaning is to say that what is meant by the light is Muhammad."

It is our challenge to Salafis/Wahabis to prove the chain of this hadith as “WEAK OR FORGED”meanwhile we would like to prove all Rijaal of this hadith as “THIQA AND SUDOOQ”

The Islamweb website which is a Salafi website itself, it declares this hadith as “HADITH AL-QUDSI (I.E. DIRECTLY FROM ALLAH) AND ALSO HASAN (GOOD)”

Translation: The Book is Dalail al Nabuwah [The Classification is]: This chain is “HASAN (GOOD)” and the Rijaal are “THIQA (RELIED UPON)” containing Khalil bin Ahmed al-Qadhi who is“SUDOOQ (TRUTHFUL)” AND HASAN IN HADITH” and Mubarik bin Fadhala who is truthful but does Tadlees and Tasweedh [Note Mubarak has narrated with clear wording of “HADASNA” from a thiqa narrator hence the blame of Tadlees cannot apply)

Wahabis by blindly following a pseudo Muhadith called Zubayr Ali Zai accuse the first narrator of this hadith, Although the first narrator is “SUDOOQ (TRUTHFUL) AND FADHIL” he is not Mujhool by any means, however we want to close all doors of exit for Salafis by showing Shawahid over first narrator. Imam Ibn Abi Asim (rah) in his al-Awail has narrated the hadith with different first narrator

Regarding first narrator of first hadith above i.e. Abul Hasan Ali bin Ahmed bin Sima al-Maqri (Rahimahullah) whom Wahabis accuse, Imam al-Dhahabi (rah) said:

اذاً طالما أن التنيسي قد طرد ، فأني أتقدم عنه بترجمة شيخ البيهقي أبو الحسن علي بن أحمد المقرئ المعروف بابن الحمامي فأقول :

قد ترجم له الذهبي في السير ( 17 / 403 ) برقم ( 265 ) فقال : ( قال الخطيب : كان صدوقا دينا فاضلا تفرد بأسانيد القراءات وعلوها في وقته ) ..

.
Meaning he was :TRUTHFUL IN DEEN AND FADHIL” as said by Imam al-Khateeb and agreed upon by Imam al-Dhahabi (rah) who calls him “MUHADITH” in introduction. Hence It is proven a lie of Wahabis that this narrator is Mujhool (unknown), Salafis cannot show a single book of Jarh wa Ta’deel which calls this narrator as Mujhool.

Note: Sheikh Abdul Haqq Muhadith Dhelvi (Rahimuhullah) who held a far higher rank than even Shaykh al Ghumari (rah) and other latter scholars, he said: The source of all creation, the universe and of Adam is Nur of Muhammad(Salallaho alaihi wasalam), hence "IT HAS COME IN SAHIH HADITH THAT THE FIRST THING WHICH ALLAH CREATED WAS MY NUR!" [Madarij al Nabuwah, Volume No.2, Page No. 2 (Persian edition), Volume No.2, Page # 13 (Urdu Edition), Published by Shabbir Brothers, Urdu, Bazaar Lahore.]
Some people object that in hadith it has also come that first thing which Allah created was Al-Qalam (i.e. pen) and they cite the hadith in Tirimdhi as proof which states: أَوَّلُ مَا خَلَقَ اللهُ الْقَلَمُ (i.e. First thing which Allah created was the pen.

They say that hence Pen is the first creation therefore the hadith of Prophet (Peace be upon him) being first created Nur contradicts it.
This is their misconception because things have been first created according to their relative primacy, here is hadith from Sahih Bukhari which even proves Throne and Water to be created before Pen

Translation:
First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His throne was over the water [Translation by Muhsin Khan, Sahih Bukhari in English, Volume 4, Book 54, Number 414]

After seeing this the deniers are dumbstruck and their own pseudo logic stands refuted because now there is even conflict between other Sahih ahadith regarding what was the first thing created! But the point is how to bring reconciliation? Imam Badr ud-din Ayni (rah) gave a magnificent answer, he states in his Umdat al Qari, Sharh Sahih al Bukhari

Translation: Imam Ahmed and Imam Tirimdhi have narrated the Marfu hadith with Sahih Isnad from Ibada bin Samit (ra) which proves that Allah first created the Pen and then told it to write and It wrote everything which would happen till day of Judgement. Hassan, Ata and Mujahid have adopted this too, Ibn Jarir and Ibn Jawzi also have this Madhab whereas Ibn Jarir has narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq that “ALLAH CREATED THE NUR AND DARKNESS PRIOR TO EVERYTHING” and then differentiated between them, There is also a saying that Allah first created “THE NUR OF MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM)” so how could reconciliation be brought in these different narrations? I say that they could be reconciled by saying that everything has its “RELATIVE PRIMACY” and they are first in relevance to things which came after them. [Umdat al Qari, Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume No. 15, Page No. 109]

Mullah Ali Qari (rah) beautifully said:
الأوّل الحقيقي هو النور المحمدي على ما بينته في المورد للمولد

Translation: The first reality is the “NUR-AL-MUHAMMADI” as I have mentioned in my book Al-Mawrid lil-Mawlid [Mullah Ali Qari in Mirqat, Sharh al Mishqaat (1/289), Published by Dar ul Fikr, Beirut, Lebanon]

Mullah Ali Qari (rah) also said:

Translation: Being first is amongst the matters of “Idhafiyah” hence the interpretation will be done that these things (i.e. Qalam, Aql, Nur, Ruh, Arsh etc…) are first according to their own “JINS” hence Pen was created first in relevance to other Pens [Note: Here Mullah Ali Qari is beautifully explaining relative primacy] and the Nur [al-Muhammadi] was created prior to every other Nur. It is also proven that Arsh was created prior to heavens and earth and all this will be attributed towards one meaning as the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “The First thing which Allah created was my Nur” and It has also come in another report thatIt was his “RUH” and both of them “HAVE SAME MEANING BECAUSE SPIRITS ARE CREATED FROM NUR[Mullah Ali Qari in Mirqat, Sharh al-Mishqaat (1/290), Published by Dar ul Fikr, Beirut, Lebanon]

So people who deny Muhammadan reality are first asked to pass a verdict of Kufr/Shirk upon Imam Badr ud-din Ayni (rah), Imam al-Qastallani (rah), Mullah Ali Qari (rah), Ibn Hajr al-Haythami (rah), Allama Alusi (rah) and many others, only then they can have a valid difference of opinion over this issue!

The hadith of Jabir bin Abdullah (rah) is further authenticated by another hadith which is Sahih and proves that Nur of Prophet (Peace be upon him) was created prior to Adam (a.s).

2) Abu Hurraira (ra) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (May Peace be upon him) that he said: When Allah created Adam (Peace be upon him) He informed him of his descendants, at this Adam (Peace be upon him) saw superiority of some over others, then he saw me towards the end in form of an “ILLUMINATING NUR”(i.e. the Last of the Prophets to be sent) he (adam) said: O my Lord who is this? The Lord replied: This is your son Ahmed who is the first and the last and (on the Day of Judgment) he will be first to do intercession.

Hadith #3

Imam Taj ad-Din Subki said: "It has been said that Allah created the spirits before the bodies, and the Prophet's reference to his prophecy in the hadith, "I was a Prophet while Adam was still between the spirit and the body”may be a reference to his blessed spirit and to the Reality of Realities (haqiqat al-haqa'iq). Our minds fall short of knowing such a Reality, but its Creator knows it, and also those to whom He extends a madad of light from Him [man amaddahu bi nurin ilahi]. Allah brings to existence whichever of these realities that He likes in the time that He pleases. As for the reality of the Prophet, it is most likely that it was before the creation of Adam, and Allah gave it its prophetic attribute upon its creation; therefore already at that time, he was the Prophet."

There is a further confirmation of the relation of the light of the Prophet to that of the rest of creation in the hadiths comparing Prophetic knowledge to the light of the stars in the darkness of night. Anas relates that the Prophet said: "The simile of the scholars of knowledge (al-`ulama') on the earth is the stars in the sky by which one is guided in the darkness of the land and the sea. When the stars are clouded over, the guides are about to be lost." Ahmad narrated it in his Musnad (Volume 003, Page No. 157 Hadith Number12606) with a chain containing Rishdin ibn Sa`d who is weak. However, it is confirmed by the hadith in Muslim and Ahmad narrated by Abu Musa al-Ash`ari whereby the Prophet said: The stars are trust-keepers for the heaven, and when the stars wane, the heaven is brought what was promised (i.e. of the corruption of the world and the coming of the Day of Judgment); and I am a trust-keeper for my Companions, so when I go my Companions will be brought what was promised them (i.e. of fitna and division); and my Companions are trustkeepers for my Community, so when they go my Community will be brought what was promised to you (i.e. following hawa and vying for dunya).

Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki
"The first thing Allah created is the light (Nur) of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and that light came and prostrated before Allah. Allah divided it into four parts and created from the first part the Throne, from the second the Pen, from the third the Tablet, and then similarly He subdivided the fourth part into parts and created the rest of creation. Therefore the light of the Throne is from the light of Muhammad , the light of the Pen is from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the light of the Tablet is from the light of Muhammad , the light of day, the light of knowledge, the light of the sun and the moon, and the light of vision and sight are all from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Hadith # 4

Ka'aab bin Ahbaar said: That Adam (may peace and blessings be upon Him) said O my son whenever you do Zikr of Allah always remember to do zikr of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) too with out doubt I saw his name written on skies when I was between Soul and Soil I did Tawaf of all the skies and didnt saw a single place in these skies when Muhammad name wasnt written, on the cheeks of Hoors, on the heaven's castle's tree leafs, on the leafs of Tooba tree, on the leaves of tree called Sidrah al-Muntiha, on the eyes of gatekeepers of heaven and between the eyes of angels I saw Muhammad written, so you should do their Zikr with much focus and extreme, without doubt the angels also remember him all the time.

In Turah and Bible was my name was mentioned every Prophet of Allah mentioned by blessings, With my Light (Nur) the morning was lightened and the people got cloud shadow due to me and Allah granted me one of his names and He is Mehmood of Arsh and I am Muhammad and Allah promised me Hodh al-Kosar and he made me the first Intercessor and I will be the first person who Intercession on will be accepted, and Allah gave me birth in the best time of mankind, the people of my Ummah are those who praise Allah, they ask to do good deeds and stop from sins.

Hadith # 6
Hadrat Sayyida Halima Sa'adiya (radi Allahu anha) who was the one responsible for feeding milk to the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) The one before whom the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to eat and drink, even she believed that the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was Noor and this has been explained by Allama Muhadith Ibn Jauzi and Qazi Thanaullah Paani Pati (rahmatuallah aleh) as follows: "When I used to feed milk to the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then I never felt the need for a light in my house. Thus one day Umme Khula Sa'diya said, "O Halima ! Do you leave the fire burning for the entire night in your house? and I answered by saying, "No! I swear by Almighty Allah that I do not keep the fire burning at all. This Noor and brightness is that of Sayidduna Rasoolullah Prophet

Sayyidina Anas ibn Maalik (RA) narrated: The day when Allah’s Messenger entered Madinah, everything in it was illuminated. Then, the day when he died everything in it became dark. And we had barely dusted off our hands after burying him when our hearts changed.

Hadith # 8

Ibn 'Abbas said: I spent the night in the house of my mother's sister, Maimuna, and observed how the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) prayed (at night). He got up and relieved himself. He then washed his face and hands and then went to sleep. He again got up and went near the water-skin and loosened its straps and then poured some water in a bowl and inclined it with his hands (towards himself). He then performed a good ablution between the two extremes and then stood up to pray. I also came and stood by his left side. He took hold of me and made me stand on his right side. It was in thirteen rak'ahs that the (night) prayer of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was completed. He then slept till he began to snore, and we knew that he had gone to sleep by his snoring. He then went out (for the dawn prayer) and then again slept, and said while praying or prostrating himself:" O Allah! place light in my heart, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light on my right, light on my left, light in front of me, light behind me, light above me, light below me, make light for me," or he said:"Make me light."

Hadith # 9

'Abdullah b. 'Abbas reported: He spent (one night) in the house of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He (the Holy Prophet) got up, brushed his teeth and performed ablution and said:" In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, there are indeed signs for people of understanding" (al-Qur'an, iii. 190), to the end of the Surah. He then stood up and prayed two rak'ahs, standing, bowing and prostrating himself at length in them. Then he finished, went to sleep and snored. He did that three times, six rak'ahs altogether, each time cleaning his teeth, performing ablution, and reciting these verses. Then he observed three rak'ahs of Witr. The Mu'adhdhin then pronounced the Adhan and he went out for prayer and was saying,:" O Allah I place light in my heart, light in my tongue, place light in my hearing, place light in my eyesight, place light behind me, and light in front of me, and place light above me, and light below me. O Allah! grant me light."

al-Zuhri narrated: `Abd Allah ibn `Abd al-Muttalib was the most handsome man that had ever been seen among the Quraysh. One day he went out and was seen by a an assembly of the women of Quraysh. One of them said: "O women of the Quraysh, which among you will marry this youth and catch thereby the light that is between his eyes?" For verily there was a light between his eyes. Thereafter Amina bint Wahb ibn `Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra married him, and after he joined her she carried Allah's Messenger.

Translation: Ibn Abbas (ra) said that the spirit of the Prophet was a light in the hands of Allah two thousand years before he created AdamThat light glorified Him and the angels glorified by his glorification. When Allah created Adam, He casted that light into his loins. The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) then said: “Allah brought me down to earth in the loins of Adam (a.s), placed me in the loins of Nuh (a.s) and then cast me into the loins of Ibrahim (a.s). Note: It is known to Ahlus sunnah wal Jammah that the above hadith about Prophet (Peace be upon him) and Ali (ra) is not authentic but in relevance to other overwhelming ahadith shown and the Usool that many ahadith on a certain subject streghthen eachother, we are citing it and there is no problem if this specific hadith is rejected by someone. Having said that It should be clarified that those who understand that Arwah were created prior to bodies would know that mention of Ali (ra) over here is just to praise him though the arwah of other sahaba like Abu Bakr (ra) are also created from the Nur of Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam), such a high and primitive praise has been given to many other sahaba, for example regarding Umar (ra), The Prophet (saw) said that Had there been a Nabi after me then it would have been Umar (ra)[Tirimdhi], now this does not mean there is even a possibility of someone else being a Nabi, It is just a praise, or regarding Ali (a.s) at another place when Prophet (saw) said: You are to me What Harun was onto Moses (Sahih Muslim), this would not mean that Ali (ra) becomes a Prophet (Naudhobillah).

Hadith #15

Aqwaal (sayings) of great Imams and Scholars

1)
Imam Fakhr ud din Razi (Rahimuhullah)

He is ranked amongst top most Mufasireen of Ahlus-Sunnah and Muslims in the east, west, north and south all accept him to be a great commentator of Qur'an (We do not care if the La Madhabiyyah sect starts accusing the great Mufasir after reading the following)

He said:

Translation: The Angels were ordered to prostate to Adam because there was Nur of Muhammad(صلى الله عليه وسلم) in forehead of Adam

2)
Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti (Rahimuhullah)
Note: Some people claim that Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti (rah) rejected the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to be Nur, therefore we consider it important to prove from Imam Suyuti (rah) at second place.

Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti (Rahimuhullah) said: Ibn Sabih (R.A) said that the shadow of Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) did not fall on ground , because the "PROPHET WAS NUR"

►Al Khasais ul Kubra of Imam Suyuti, Volume No. 1, Page No. 169

Imam Jalal ud-din Suyuti (rah) did not refute this in his magnificent book on Merits of Prophet (Peace be upon him). Had there been a hint of Shirk in this concept then Imam Suyuti (rah) would have strongly refuted this report.

3) Allama Alusi al-Hanafi (Rahimuhullah)

Translation: "The Prophet's being a mercy to all is linked to the fact that he is the intermediary of the divine outpouring over all contingencies [i.e. all created things without exception], from the very beginnings(wasitat al-fayd al-ilahi `ala al-mumkinat `ala hasab al-qawabil), and that is why his light was the first of all things created, as stated in the report that "The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir," and also cited is: "Allah is the Giver and I am the Distributor." The Sufis have more to say on that chapter." [Tafsir Ruh al Ma’ani Volume 17 Page 105]

5) Mullah Ali Qari (Rahimuhullah)
Mullah Ali Qari (rah) beautifully said:

الأوّل الحقيقي هو النور المحمدي على ما بينته في المورد للمولد

Translation: The first reality is the “NUR-AL-MUHAMMADI” as I have mentioned in my book Al-Mawrid lil-Mawlid [Mullah Ali Qari in Mirqat, Sharh al Mishqaat (1/289), Published by Dar ul Fikr, Beirut, Lebanon]

From this quote It is also proven that Mullah Ali Qari (rah) wrote a complete book on the issue of Mawlid an Nabi. Remember Salafis deny this book to be ever written by the great scholar, however mention of this book in his magnificent Sharah book called Mirqaat leaves behind no doubt that he did write this boo.

Mullah Ali Qari (rah) also said:
Translation: Being first is amongst the matters of “Idhafiyah” hence the interpretation will be done that these things (i.e. Qalam, Aql, Nur, Ruh, Arsh etc…) are first according to its own “JINS” hence Pen  was created first in relevance to other Pens [Note: Here Mullah Ali Qari is beautifully explaining relative primacy] and the Nur [al-Muhammadi] was created prior to every other Nur. It is also proven that Arsh was created prior to heavens and earth and all this will be attributed towards one meaning as the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “The First thing which Allah created was my Nur” and It has also come in another report that It was his “RUH” and both of them “HAVE SAME MEANING BECAUSE SPIRITS ARE CREATED FROM NUR [Mullah Ali Qari in Mirqat, Sharh al-Mishqaat (1/290), Published by Dar ul Fikr, Beirut, Lebanon]

Note: This is a beautiful reply rather refutation of those people who claim that first creation was water, pen or Throne ...they themselves know that different things are mentioned to be first of creations but just in opposition and hatred for Prophet (Peace be upon him) they show this apparently contradiction whereas they do realize that all first created things are mentioned in regards to their "RELATIVE PRIMACY"

6) Mujaddad Alf Thaani (Rahimuhullah)
Mujaddad Alf Thaani (Rehmat'Ullah Alaih) said: It should be known that creation of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is not similar to other mankind, rather nothing in the created world resembles the way he were created, because Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is created from (created) Nur of Allah, just as Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) mentioned himself.

Hassan ibn Thabit (RA) recites this beautiful poetry:

(ترحل عن قوم فضلت عقولهم         وحل على قوم بنور مجدد)

Translation: He left a people who preferred their minds over him And he dawned on a people with a light made new.

Translation: Whenever his forehead emerged in pitch-black darkness, It would shine like the blazing luminary of dark night.

►Imam Bayhaqi narrated the two verses in Dala’il al-Nubuwwa (1:280, 302)

Hadeeth e Nur of Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala 'Anhu)

Hadeeth of Jabir Bin 'Abdullah (Radi ALLAH Ta'ala 'Anhu)

Al-Juz al-Mafqud min al-Juz al-Awwal min al-Musannaf Abdur Razaq, Publish: Dar al-Muhadith, Riyadh/Saudia

And when Allah wished to create creation, he divided that Light into four parts and from the first made the Pen, from the second the Tablet, from the third the Throne, [and from the fourth everything else]......." [Musannaf Abdur Razaq, al-Juz al-Mafqud min al-Juz al-Awwal min al-Musannaf Abdur Razaq, Page No. 99, Hadith Number 18]

1. Imam Bayhaqi
Front Cover, Dala’il un Nubuwwah, Published by Dar al-Kutub al-Ilmiyah, Beirut, Lebanon

Translation:
Abu Hurraira (ra) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (May Peace be upon him) that he said:
When Allah created Adam (Peace be upon him) He informed him of his descendants, at this Adam (Peace be upon him) saw superiority of some over others, then he saw me towards the end in form of an “ILLUMINATING NUR” (i.e. the Last of the Prophets to be sent) he (Adam) said: O my Lord who is this? The Lord replied: This is your son Ahmed who is the first and the last and (on the Day of Judgment) he will be first to do intercession.

2. Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki

Al -Madkhal, Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki, Publish: Dar al-Turath, Qahira

Imam Abu Abdullah Ibn al-Haaj al-Maliki (D. 736) writes:
"The first thing Allah created is the light (Nur) of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and that light came and prostrated before Allah. Allah divided it into four parts and created from the first part the Throne, from the second the Pen, from the third the Tablet, and then similarly He subdivided the fourth part into parts and created the rest of creation. Therefore the light of the Throne is from the light of Muhammad, the light of the Pen is from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the light of the Tablet is from the light of Muhammad, the light of day, the light of knowledge, the light of the sun and the moon, and the light of vision and sight are all from the light of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

3. Imam Qastalani

Translation:

Ka'aab bin Ahbaar said: That Adam (may peace and blessings be upon Him) said O my son whenever you do Zikr of Allah always remember to do zikr of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) too without doubt I saw his name written on skies when I was between Soul and Soil I did Tawaf of all the skies and didn’t saw a single place in these skies when Muhammad name wasn’t written, on the cheeks of Hoors, on the heaven's castle's tree leafs, on the leafs of Tooba tree, on the leaves of tree called Sidrah al-Muntiha, on the eyes of gatekeepers of heaven and between the eyes of angels I saw Muhammad written, so you should do their Zikr with much focus and extreme, without doubt the angels also remember him all the time.

6. Imam al-Sayyid Mahmud Alusi

Imam al-Sayyid Mahmud Alusi, Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani, Publish Dar al Ihya al-Turath al-Arabi, Beirut, Lebanon
Translation:

Imam Alusi (al-Sayyid Mahmud) in his commentary of Qur'an said:
"The Prophet's being a mercy to all is linked to the fact that he is the intermediary of the divine outpouring over all contingencies [i.e. all created things without exception], from the very beginnings (wasitat al-fayd al-ilahi `ala al-mumkinat `ala hasab al-qawabil), and that is why his light was the first of all things createdas stated in the report that "The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir," and also cited is: "Allah is the Giver and I am the Distributor." The Sufis -- may Allah sanctify their secrets -- have more to say on that chapter."

[Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani, Volume 017, Page No. 105]
There is a notable explanation among Ahl al-Sunna which ascribes the meaning of the Prophet to both the Light and the Book. al-Sayyid al-Alusi said in Ruh al-ma`ani said:

Translation:

"I do not consider it far-fetched that what is meant by both the Light and the Manifest Book is the Prophet, the conjunction being in the same way as what was said by al-Jubba'i [in that that both the Light and the Book were the Qur'an]. There is no doubt that all can be said to refer to the Prophet. Perhaps you will be reluctant to accept this from the viewpoint of expression (`ibara); then let it be from the viewpoint of subtle allusion (ishara)."

[Tafsir Ruh al-Ma`ani, Volume 006, Page No. 97-8]

Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) Said:

"My mother saw such a Light (Nur) coming out from her body that it lit the castles of Syria"

1. Imam Byhaqi
Front Cover, Dala’il un Nubuwwah, Published by Dar al-Kutub al-Ilmiyah, Beirut, Lebanon

Translation:

Arbaz Bin Sariyah (ra) narrated that the Sahaba asked (about reality of Prophet). The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:
I am the prayer of Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him) and Esa (Peace Be Upon Him) gave glad tiding of my arrival to his nation. My mother saw such a Light (Nur) coming out from her body that it lit the castles of Syria.

2. Imam Ibn e Hibban

Sahih Ibn Hibban, Publish: Dar al Risalah, Beirut/Lebanon
Translation:

Narrated from al-Irbad ibn Sariya (Allah be well-pleased with him) that the Prophet (Allah bless and greet him) said:
"I am Allah's servant (as written) in the Mother of the Book, and verily the seal of Prophets when Adam was still kneaded in his clay. I shall tell you of the meaning of this. (I am) the prayer of my father Ibrahim and the glad tidings proclaimed by `Isa to his people and the vision of my mother who saw that a light issued from her illuminating the very palaces of Syria,"

[Sahih Ibn Hibban, Volume 014, Page No. 312-13, Hadith Number 6404]

3. Imam Haakim

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:
"I am the prayer of Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him) and Esa (Peace Be Upon Him) gave glad tiding of my arrival to his nation. My mother saw such a Light (Nur) coming out from her body that it lit the castles of Syria. "
Al-Hakim narrated it three times in al-Mustadrak, and said its chain is sound (sahih) [and al-Dhahabi concurred]:
al-Haythami in Majma` al-Zawa'id 8:223 - sahih chain. Also narrated from Abu Umama and other Companions with sound chains as stated by Ibn Kathir in al-Bidaya 2:275

Reciting these ayaats after this hadith "(I am) the vision of my mother who saw that a light issued from her illuminating the very palaces of Syria," is the proof that Siraaj Am Muneera from this ayaat means the Light of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) which Ahl us Sunnah Wal Jama'ah Believe !

Talib e Dua
Wajahat Hussain

The Shadowless Prophet
Sayyidina Muhammad

---

We are living in a world of uncertainty and misconceptions. Some people are posing questions that attack the very roots of our beliefs about Allah Almighty and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , attempting to create doubt in the minds of the unsuspecting Muslims.

Quote:
Wahabi/Salafi
^Wahabi
Quote Wahabi says:
“I have not come accross a good reasoning as yet. There have been stories and concepts like a concept that Prophet did not have a shadow.

Now this is kind of weird, its not possible that Prophet did not have a shadow and the world didn't know of it.

Like all the non-muslim honest historians very clearly know that Huzoor was Honest and True in chanracter and behavior, (Sadiq and Ameen).

How did historians know about the honesty and truth of the Prophet , of course they travelled and did their research.

And then imagine a man who does not cast a shadow in sun it would be the news of the news to the mankind and those who managed to know that He was honest and true would certainly also know and "Document" that this Honest and True man did not also have a shadow.

You see brother such flasehood makes me think the way not to believe any argument brought forward by you people on this topic."

[End of Quote]

^His Western historians such as A.J. Wensinck and Denis Gril... reject the historicity of the splitting of the moon miracle of the Holy Prophet(S)!

MATERIALIST philosophers and their absurd imitators, who attempt to cast a shadow over such a moon-like miracle of The Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) by vicious misgivings, say,

"If the splitting of the moon had occurred, it would have been known to the whole world and narrated on all the books of history."

Go and see:
The incident relating to King Chakrawati Farmas is documented in an old manuscript in the India Office Library, London, which has reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173.
---
Today misguided intellectuals tried to heap insults on the luminous personality of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم by questioning the extent of his knowledge whereas the commentators of the Holy Qur'an maintain that in terms of knowledge, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلمis the sun and all the other prophets are planets orbitting about him.
The majority of scholars of Islam maintain that the Prophet's knowledge constitutes of what was, what is and what will be. Others deny that Allah created him as light and a source of light.
Now another group has sprung up, seeking recognition by using scientific knowledge as the basis for Iman (faith). Anything contrary to their understanding of science is discarded from their principles of faith.
In this world there are two types of blind folk--those who are born without sight; and those who have vision, but refuse to see the light.
It is to educate this group that the Holy Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم had said:
"Where science ends, my Religion begins".
---
Miracles of Earlier Prophets
The Holy Qur'an speaks of many miracles which are beyond the imagination of those who are tied to the cudgels of science, as they cannot be explained through scientific exposition.
Some examples of these are:-
1. According to science, the quality of fire is to burn. Yet, when Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) was hurled into it at the command of Nimrud, not a single hair of this great Prophet of Allah was destroyed.
2. Scientific data explains that iron can only melt under great heat, yet this same iron melted in the hands of Sayyidina Dawud (as).
3. Leprosy, blindness, etc. according to science are virtually incurable illnesses, yet a mere touch of the blessed hand of Sayyidina `Isa (as) cured the victims of these. Even more incredible is the restoration of the eyesight of Sayyidina Ya`qub (as) by touching the shirt of Sayyidina Yusuf (as).
Can these people who are influenced by the new innovators in religion, the Wahabi/Salafimovement, deny the veracity of these miracles?
If these are possible, then why is it difficult to accept the miracle that the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not possess a shadow?
Do they have any conclusive proof from a single hadith to prove the contrary ?
On the contrary, there is authenticated proof from the ahadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and from the writings of great and authentic scholars of Islam which show beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم did not possess a shadow.
From Hadith

Hadith 1: Sayyidina Hakeem Tirmidhi in his book Nawaadirul-Usool narrates from Sayyidina Zakwaan http://www.sunnah.org/images/radiya.gif, a close Companion of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , the following Hadith: "The shadow of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم could not be seen in the brightness of the sun, nor in moonlight".

Hadith 2: Allamah Ibn al-Jawzi in his Kitabul-Wafa narrates a hadith from Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Abbas http://www.sunnah.org/images/radiya.gif the cousin of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمin which he said: "The Messenger of Allah had no shadow, not while standing in the sun, but the brilliance of his light (nur) surpassed the rays of the sun; nor while sitting before a burning light, but his luminous light excelled the lustre of the light".

Hadith 3: Imam Nasafi in his Tafseer Madaarik narrates from Sayyidina Uthman ibn Affan http://www.sunnah.org/images/radiya.gif, the son-in-law of the Prophet http://www.sunnah.org/images/salla.gif that he said to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم : "Allah Almighty does not let your shadow fall on the ground, so that no foot of man can fall on it".

Hadith 4: Imam Jalaludeen Suyuti in his Khasaa'is al-Kubra narrates from Ibn Saba http://www.sunnah.org/images/radiya.gif: "This is also a unique feature of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that his shadow did not touch the ground, because he was light (nur), and when he used to walk in the sunshine his shadow could not be seen."

From Scholars

Having read the words of those who had lived with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and had closely watched his every action, we shall now turn to some great scholars of Islam, whose writings are considered most authentic in Islamic affairs. Pay heed to these to dispel any doubts that you may have regarding the subject. All these great scholars firmly believed that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not possess a shadow.

Qadi Iyad (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) :

Imam Qadi Iyad in his Ash-Shifa states:"The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not possess a shadow in the brightness of the sun or in the moonlight, because he was light (nur)".

Imam Ahmad Qastalani (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Imam Ahmad Qastalani states in Al-Mawahibul-laduniyya: "That the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not possess a shadow in the brightness of the sun or moonlight is proven from the ahadith of Tirmidhi of Ibn Zakwaan and Ibn Saba http://www.sunnah.org/images/radiya.gif."
Shaykh Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Shaykh Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi states in Madaarij an-nubuwwah: "The Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم shadow did not appear in sunshine nor in moonlight".
Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi in his Mathnawi states: "Let alone the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , even if an ordinary servant of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمreaches the stage of inner mortality (baqa), then like the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, his shadow too disappears"
Hazrat Hakeem Tirmidi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) in his book "Nawaa Da Rul Usool" narrates a tradition fromHazrat Zakwaan (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)"The shadow of the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) could not be seen in the brightness of the sun, nor in moonlight."
Seyedena Abdullah Ibn Mubarak and Haafiz Ibn Jouzi narrate from Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas(radiyallahu ta'ala anhu): "The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) did not possess a shadow, neither in the brightness of the sun, nor in the brightness of a light, but His brightness used to overpower the brightness of the sun and the brightness of a light."
Imaam Nasafi in his Tafseer Madaarik Shareef narrates from Hazrat Usman Ibn Uthman (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)Hazrat Usman said to the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) that "Almighty Allah does not let your shadow fall on the ground, so that no man's foot can be placed on it."
Hazrat Imam Suyutwi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) in his "Khasaai's Kubra"narrates from
Ibn Saba (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
"Ibn Saba has stated that this is also a unique feature of the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) that his shadow should not touch the ground, because he was Nur, and when he used to walk in the sunshine his shadow could not be seen.”
Some scholars have said that this phenomenon proves the tradition in which the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) once supplicated to the Almighty Allah: "O Allah make me Nur(light)" The above traditions quite categorically prove that the belief that the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) did not have a shadow is not mere here say but a fact proven from tradition.
Indeed there will be some who will completely refute the traditions, but we should remember that this belief is an accepted fact in every generation of the scholars of Islam as we shall shortly see.
The Belief of the Preceding Great Scholars
Imaam Jalaludeen Suyutwi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)states: "The statement which has been made about the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) not possesing a shadow, even in the brightness of the sun or in the moonlight, the reason thereof being that he was nur (light).
Allama Shahabudeen Khafaaji (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)states: For reasons of respect and greatness of the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) shadow should not touch the ground, although it is in the shadow of the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) that all mankind sleeps, what is more startling than this. Indeed for this the Quranic injunction is sufficient which states that the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) is a perspicious light and indeed by not having a shadow it does not mean he is not also bashr (a human being).
Imaam Allama Ahmed Qastalaani (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) states: "It has been stated that the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) did not posses a shadow in the brightness of the sun or in the moonlight as narrated by Tirmidi stated by Ibn Zakwaan. Ibn Saba has stated that the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) was nur(light) when he used to walk in the sunshine or moonlight his shadow did not appear.
Allama Husain Ibn Muhamed Dayaar Bakri(radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) states: "The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) shadow should not appear on the earth neither was it seen in the sunshine nor in the moonlight."
Imam Allama Ibn Hajar makki (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)states: "To substantiate that the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) was nur, is that his shadow should not appear in the sunshine nor in the moonlight. For indeed shadow emanates from that which is dense and the Almighty Allah created him from all that is pure of density, he was created as pure nur(light) because of which his shadow should not appear."
Allama Sulayman Jamal (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) states:"The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) shadow should not appear in sunshine nor in the moonlight."
Imaam Rabbani Mujaddid Alif Saani (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) states: "The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) did not posses a shadow. The reason being that in the Aalme Shahaadat everything's shadow is much more lighter than that material, and it is the greatness of the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) that nothing is lighter than him so how can he have a shadow."
Allama Shaikh Mohamed Tahir states: "Among the names of the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) one is also nur and its uniqueness is that his shadow should not appear when he used to walk in the sunshine or moonlight."
Imamul Aarifeen Moulana Jalaaludeen Rumi(radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) states:
"When a fakir reaches the stage of inner mortality, then like the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) his shadow disappears."
Zakwan (a ta’bi’i) (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) narrates that “the shadow of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) did not show in the sun nor did it became apparent in the moonlight.”
(Recorded by al-Hakim al-Tirmidhi (and not the famous Hadith master Imam Abu Eisa al-Tirmidhi) in his Nawadir al-Usul. See: al-Khasa’is al-Kubrah of Imam Suyuti, 1/164)
Qadhi Iyadh al-Maliki states: “The statement which has been made regarding the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) not possessing a shadow in the brightness of the sun or in the moonlight, is due to the fact that he was light (nur).” (al-Shifa, p. 462, no. 1126)

“Some of the Prophet’s Companions were given to see this light as even brighter than both the sun and moon, for when they walked with him they noticed that he cast no shadow on the ground.”
(al-Hakim al-Tirmidhi)
Allamah Imam Nasafi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) writes:Hazrat Uthman (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu) came to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu `alaihi wasallam) and said, "Allah did not put your shadow on the Earth in case someone trod upon it".(Tafseer-e-Madarik)
Hazrat Hakeem Tirmizi narrates from Hazrat Zakwaan Tabi'ee (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu): "The shadow of the blessed Prophet (sallallahu `alaihi wasallam) didn't show in the sun nor did it became apparent in the moonlight". (Khasaais-e-Kubra)
Imam ibn Hajar Makki al-Haytami (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Imam Haytami writes: "He became light to the extent that if he walked in sunlight or moonlight he did not have a shadow. The reason is that shadows pertain only to dense bodies whereas he has been purified by Allah from all the bodily attributes of denseness and he has turned him into light unadulterated and pure, and entirely devoid of shadow." (Sharh Qaseedah Hamziyyah, Afdalul Qurra)
Imam Burhanuddin al-Halabi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Imam Halabi writes:"If he walked in sunlight or in moonlight he had no shadow because he was light."(Seerat-ul-Halbiyah)

Imam Rabbani Mujaddid-e-Alfi Thaani (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Imam Rabbani writes: "Indeed the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) did not have a shadow. This is because in this world, the shadow of a being is always more fine than the actual being itself and in this universe, there is nothing more fine than the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam), hence, how could it be possible that he possessed a shadow"? (Maktubaat Shareef, Vol.3, p.187, Lucknow)

Shah Abdul `Azeez Muhaddith-e-Dehlwi (radiyallahu ta'ala anhu)
Shah Abdul `Azeez writes concerning the Shadowless Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam):

"His (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) shadow did not fall upon the Earth". (Tafseer-e-`Azeezi)
Imam Qazi Ayaaz in his ASH-SHIFA states: "The Holy Prophet Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim did not possess a shadow in the brightness of the sun or in the moonlight, because he was Noor (light)".

Imam al-Zurqani also states that Imams Ibn al-Jawziand Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak have reported on the authority of Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) did not have a shadow. (See: Sharh al-Zurqani, 7/200)
--------------------------

The following quote of Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi is presented so that our Deobandi brothers can take a second glance attheir beliefs regarding the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) in light of their Imam's quote:
Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi writes,

"The Prophet was made of Noor. All things apart from Noor have a shadow and because of the Prophet's Nooraniyat (light), he did not possess a shadow".
(Imdad-us-Sulook)

Those Deobandis who revere and honour Maulana Gangohi should inspect their creed and thereafter alter it so that it is in line with the above quotation of his.

Dear Muslims! In light of the aforementioned, we must not consider ourselves to be from the minority when believing the Dear Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) to be Noor and shadowless. Rather, it is those who deny the light of the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) who are from the minority and have arisen with their beliefs recently. Our belief in the Noor-e-Muhammadi is as old as Islam whereas the belief that the Prophet(sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) is a normal human being like any other is an innovation.

"Its not a question of believing or not believing. If one sees "the reason" one would definitely believe also.

Another Wahabi/Salafi
Questions:
"Was Prophet Muhammad a "Noor" or "Bashar", and
is it true that he had no shade even in light?."
Quote:
from wahabi/salafi Q&A
Wahabi Committee:
^
The Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas
was asked the following question:
“...Is this hadeeth saheeh which says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had no shadow?"
They replied:
“This view is false and goes against the texts of the Qur’aan and the saheeh Sunnah which indicate that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was human and did not differ in his human make-up from other people. He had a shadow like any other human. The Prophethood with which Allaah honoured him did not alter the fact that he was human as Allaah created him, with a father and mother. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say (O Muhammad): I am only a man like you. It has been revealed to me that your Ilaah (God) is One Ilaah (God ___i.e. Allaah)”[al-Kahf 18:110]
“Their Messengers said to them: We are no more than human beings like you”[Ibraaheem 14:11]
With regard to the report that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was created from the light of Allaah, this is a fabricated hadeeth. End quote.

The Companion, Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, described how, when the Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, first entered Madina, everything in Madina became illuminated, then how, when he died and was buried in ‘A’isha’s house, the light disappeared. The phenomenon was so sudden that the Companions were taken aback and began to doubt whether they had really seen it at all. [Ahmad and ibn Majah.]

-----------------------------
The Wahabis present the following ayaah to suggest that He (PBUH) is a man like us:
'say: I am a man (bashar) like you, it is revealed (WAHI) to me that your god is One God'.
(41:6)
This is one ayaah from the Quran and the differentia of revelation(wahi) would have been enough for its sincere understanding, nevertheless, topical exegesis(tafseer mauzoey) means to read all the ayaat of the Quran and sahih hadith about a single concept and then make a judgement.

First of all ayaah is saying I'm like you and NOT you are like Me!
Imam Razi (d.606) in Tafseer Kabir says: "Allah commanded the Prophet (PBUH) to set an example for modesty and humility (tawazo) that is the purpose of the ayaah".

The reason for this is that 'your god is One God' this ayah came to SAVE tauheed and not to demean Prophethood because look, Quran says that jews called Uzair(A) son of God (9:30), why because He performed miracles, which they could not comprehend. Imagine the untold miracles Rasool Allah(S) performed so there was a danger that these people would call him God so Allah(S) revealed the ayaah with Your God is One at the end of it.

First person to focus upon Prophets being bashar was theshaytan himself, more details in the Quran. Remember, we are looking at all ayaat on 'Missal'(likeness) and 'Bashar'(Man like us).
Allah subhan wa Taalah says:
Every animal on earth or in the sky, who are umma like(amsaal:plural of missal) you.(6:38).
Therefore if animals are our missal as Allah(S) is saying then why don’t you Wahabis/Deobandis say that you are like pigs and pigs are like you?
Although there are many more ayaat like this but this much is sufficient for now. in hadith literature also you will find that Rahmat ul AAlameen(صلى الله عليه وسلم) frequently said that you are NOT like Me, with the word missal, for example:
Sahih Bukhari and Tirmazi report that: Indeed, you are not like Me (missal).'inni lasto misslokum'.

Again in Bukhari, Muslim and Abu Dawoodyou are not like Me 'ayyokum missli'

Nasai and Tirmazi:
Imam Ali says: “There is no one like Mohammed Mustafa(S)”[Khasais- e- Kubra]

Again in Bukhari and Muslim: I am not like you, I am given food and water. 'inni lasto misslokum inni ut-ema wa usqa' these are just a sample out of many more similar ahadith.

All Ayaat and Hhadith contain word missal(like) and all ayaat contain words bashar and missal.
Therefore when you consider the idea in light of topical exegesis i.e. all ayaat and hadith about one concept together then you get the true meaning of likeness and bashar.

Finally, in keeping with our formula of evidence, not a single scholar of Ahle Sunna called the Prophet(صلى الله عليه وسلمa man like us, instead, you will find the opposite.
The Majority of Scholars of Islam gave importance to that verse, in which Sayyidina Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is showing the people, "Even with my greatness, even with the power that Allah gave to me, even with Isra' and Miraj, even with revelation, still I am limited in knowing Allah's knowledge. But you are limited in knowing my knowledge.”
Sayyidina Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is emphasizing. "You are in limits with respect to my knowledge and I am in limits with respect to Allah's knowledge." Oh Muslims, Allah doesn't accept any shareek. And that's why Sayyidina Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said in this verse,"I am a human being," it means“I am not associating myself with Allah (SWT)
That is why my knowledge is not equal. And, as Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , the Seal of Messengers, no one can reach my level. You have to know your limitation, and I know my limitation to my Lord.
-----------------------------
Imaam Neshapuri narrates:
“When Allah wanted to create the Physical form of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), Allah ordered Hazrat Jibrail(Allayhissalaam) to go along with other Malaikas to bring soil.
Hazrat Jibrial (Allayhissalaam) asked Allah that where should he get that soil from?;whereupon Allah said,"Inni Khalikun Basharan Min Salsaalin Min Hamain Masloom",that every Bashar is made from soil but i don’t want to create my Beloved(صلى الله عليه وسلم) physical form with this wordly soil but the special soil from Rozatum-Mir'Riaazul Jannah. [Sharaf-Ul-Mustafa]

The area from Mimbar of Rasoolallah صلى الله عليه وسلمto the Roza of Hazrat Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم is called Riyaaz-ul-Jannahmeans part of Jannat. That particular part is not a part of this worldly land but a part of Jannat.
-----------------
Ka`b al-Ahbaar said,
"When Allah wanted to create Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), he ordered the Angel Gabriel to bring him the clay which is the heart of the earth, its splendor and light. Then Gabriel descended, accompanied by the angels from the Highest Part of Paradise.
He took a handful for the creation of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)from the spot where his hallowed grave is; it was shining brightly white.
Then he kneaded the clay with the most superior water of creation from the Heavenly Fountain Tasneem, in the clear flowing rivers of Paradise, until it became like a white pearl with a tremendous white radiance.
The angels carried it, circling the Heavenly Throne and the mountains and the oceans. In this way the angels and all creation came to know our Master Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم)and his prestige, before they knew Adam."

Ibn Hajar Asqalani said:

Ka`b Ibn Mati` al-Himyari, Abu Ishaq, known as Ka`b al-Ahbar, is trustworthy (thiqah). He belongs to the 2nd [tabaqah]. He lived during both Jahiliyyah and Islam. He lived in Yemen before he moved to Sham [~Syria]. He died during the Caliphate of `Uthman exceeding 100 years of age. None of his reports are in al-Bukhari. He has one narration in Muslim from Abu Huraira from him on the authority of al-A`mash from Abu Salih.
